Debut album out now — Everyday In Victory
Afrobeat rhythm, surrendered to Christ.
Afro Kristo is a four-piece collective writing gospel through Afrobeat and Afro-pop — the sound of home, given entirely over to worship.
Came here for the song? Everyday In Victory is the title track of the debut album of the same name — the whole record is streaming now.
We're not building a bridge between two worlds. Every groove, every lyric, every show is surrendered to Christ — Afrobeat is simply the language we grew up speaking.
Afro Kristo, on the making of Everyday In Victory
Two things drive every song
The band writes from two directions at once — a groove people move to, and a lyric people mean. Neither one waits for the other.
The rhythm
Log-drum bass, highlife guitar lines, and horn calls-and-answers pull straight from West African dance music. It's built to be felt in the feet first — the same groove you'd hear from any Afrobeat stage, repurposed for testimony.
The message
Lyrics stay in everyday language — gratitude, endurance, the ordinary business of getting through a week and calling it victory. No liturgy, no borrowed hymn language. Just what the band actually believes, said plainly.
